A Little Casuistry Goes a Long Way: "We have developed an insidious system where the Federal Government subsidizes insurance to flood, hurricane, tornado, earthquake and other areas prone to natural disasters without having adequate funds—therefore, each disaster becomes another taxpayer check to individuals that should have know better and would not necessarily be able to afford private insurance to cover their hazards, but who are able to stay an suffer the ravages and collect the claims.
This is not to say that I do not live in a hazardous area—we've had tornadoes and hurricanes; nevertheless, it is my choice and I pay the windstorm insurance, have reinforced my home, have the necessary stockpile of food & supplies etc., etc. I do not expect anyone to come to my aid or to pay my way—why should I expect to suffer paying other fools the way to their dusty deaths?"
