A Little Casuistry Goes a Long Way: "Several decades ago Federico Fellini produced "Satyricon"—it seemed such an aberrant display of hermaphrodites, gluttons, sybarites, ... marking the waning days of Rome's luxuriant decay, but nothing that I would ever recognize in America. At the time there were no XXX book stores, Blue Laws controlled liquor store hours, ... all that has changed and today I would venture, many would see many parallels with our own social mores and behaviors—how a civilization can morph in one short lifetime."
