Solipsism or Hubris?

Hong Kong—a free market paradigm & America's crony capitalism

     Hong Kong is perhaps a singular example of the power for a free capitalist market in the world.  Most of the world has crony capitalism, e.g. the U.S. as Judge Janice Rogers Brown argues has foregone protecting economic rights since the Supreme Court has "abdicated its constitutional duty to protect economic rights completely, acknowledging that the only recourse for aggrieved property owners lies in the 'democratic process'." [US Court of Appeals, District of Columbia Circuit, HETTINGA V. UNITED STATES, 677 F.3D 471 (D.C. CIR. 2012), decided 13 April 2012 http://goo.gl/yDmBV1]

      "What an extraordinary statement: for protection against 'abuses'—not mistakes, misjudgments, or disagreements, but abuses—people must seek redress from the body that perpetrated those abuses in the in the first place."  We are no longer living in a constitutional republic with healthy checks and balances on the power of the legislative." [Clark M. Neily III, Terms of Engagement—How Our Courts Should Enforce the Constitution's Promise of Limited Government, Encounter Books, NY, 2013, p. 105]

GUN SAFETY = GUN CONTROL

Progressive Newspeak* (doublespeak) is always changing words to conceal the truth, e.g.,

Insurgents =Terrorists;
Undocumented worker =Illegal
alien; Social justice = Marxism;

Pro-choice = Murder;
Progressive = Socialist;
Sustainable
development = State managed;

Fee = Taxes;
Diversity = Racism;
Spin = Lies;
Wetlands = Swampland;
A right to ... = Legalized robbery;
Baby = Tissue;
Free Speech = Propaganda;
Privacy Act = Government data collection …

Among the latest is GUN SAFETY = GUN CONTROL, which proceeds to GUNREGISTRATION = GUN CONFISCATION …

In Orwell’s “1984,” the outside walls of the “Ministry of Truth” (headquarters for propaganda and revisionist history) are adorned withthree “Newspeak” phrases – slogans of the political party ruling the total surveillance state of Oceania. They are:

WAR IS PEACE,
FREEDOM IS SLAVERY,
IGNORANCE IS STRENGTH.»

It Is a Thing of Bad Example Not to Observe a Law [that is] Made, and Most of All by the Author of It

«Rulers should obey the law they themselves have made or supported. Savoranola violated this rule, thereby showing himself to be ambitious and partisan and ruining his reputation. The title of the chapter in the Discourses [by Machiavelli] that recounts this incident begins, "It Is a Thing of Bad Example Not to Observe a Law [that is] Made, and Most of All by the Author of It...." The chapter itself unwinds the theme: "I do not believe that there is a thing of worse example in a republic than to make a law and not observe it; and all the more when it is not observed by whoever made it."»

—Sebastian de Grazia, Machiavelli in Hell, p. 107

 Alas, it is evident that Barack Hussein Obama Jr, constitutional lawyer by name only, snorted through his Ivy League education and heeds not republican values.
